Running Away to Join the Circus...

... at least that's what Alyssa wants to do when she grows up! We took a family trip to the circus last night where Alyssa informed me that she wanted to join the circus. The only problem was she couldn't decide what she wanted to do- be an acrobat, ride an elephant, be a clown, or ride on a trapeze. She finally came up with a solution, "I know, Mommy. I can do them all." Ummm...... I don't think so.

Last year, both girls had a blast and their eyes were glued to the performances every second, so we were expecting the same for this year. Alyssa had lots of  fun, but for future reference, taking a tired three-year-old to the circus on a Friday night is quite the experience! Poor Audrey was ready for bed and not in the best of moods (as you can probably tell by the pictures). Preschool wears her out and she needs her beauty sleep :-) She did enjoy the cotton candy and watching the animal acts, but I'm thinking next year our trip to the circus should probably take place during the day!

Alyssa is Five!!!!!

Last Wednesday, Alyssa turned FIVE!!! Mommy and Daddy cannot believe it- the last five years have flown by! We tried to talk her into staying four, but she wouldn't go for it. :-) She said she needed to be five "so baby Allie can come out and I can help you take care of her, Mommy. But I'm not changing any stinky diapers!" To celebrate her special day, Alyssa wanted to invite the grandparents over for dinner, cupcakes, and ice cream. She also opened a few presents since her party isn't until next weekend. We love our special girl and can't imagine life without you in it!
