Leaving on a Jet Plane...

On June 23rd Mommy, Daddy, Alyssa, and Audrey flew to CA for a couple of weeks to visit some of Daddy's family. Both girls were so good during both plane rides on the way there. Nana Donna picked us up at the airport and we headed to her house where we met Auntie Jasmine and Isaac. Alyssa was so excited to see Isaac. They had a great time playing together minus a few sharing issues.


The next day, we went to Pebble Beach to have some pictures taken of Alyssa, Audrey, and Isaac, but it was REALLY cold, so Audrey had to stay bundled up and couldn't get down at all for the pictures. After the pictures, Audrey took a nap at Nana Donna's house while Mommy, Auntie Jasmine, Isaac, and Alyssa went swimming. Alyssa and Isaac had so much fun, but they kept wanting to swim in the hot tub instead of the swimming pool. We ended the day with a trip to Nonie and Papa's house (Alyssa's great-grandparents) and some yummy frozen yogurt.


Over the next several days, we stayed pretty busy with a family dinner for Papa's birthday with yummy pasta, lemon pie, and cheesecake, a trip to Uncle Val's house in Valley Springs to watch fireworks, and a birthday dinner for Nana Donna.

The next Monday, Auntie Jasmine didn't have to work, so we all headed to her new house and Alyssa and Isaac spent some time playing in the kiddie pool. They had a blast!!!

The rest of the week consisted of a little swimming, a few trips to the mall, and a trip to the beach with Nonie, Siena and Papa. When we got to the beach, there was a sea lion hanging out in the sand, which was pretty cool. We headed from the sand to the harbor where Alyssa loved looking at all of the boats and and then to Mezza Luna for a delicious lunch. Daddy swears they have the best steak in the world!





We also went to the San Francisco Zoo on Friday with Nana Donna, Aunt Denise, Uncle Vince, and Siena. It was pretty cold. Audrey was bundled up so that only her head was sticking out above the blanket and we had to buy Alyssa a jacket to wear while we were there. We had a great time though. One of our favorites was the mommy and baby gorilla. After the zoo, Alyssa and Audrey stayed with Nana Donna, Aunt Denise, and Siena while Mommy, Daddy, Jasmine, and Rob went to the Giants game. What a great game! Already 13-0 in the 3rd inning!!!


On the 4th, we all woke up and headed to Redwood City's 4th of July parade with Nana Donna. Audrey loved watching all the people when she wasn't napping and Alyssa loved dancing to the different bands' music. That afternoon we all went to Isaac's 3rd birthday party.


The next day, Mommy, Nana Donna, Audrey and Alyssa met Auntie Jasmine, Isaac, and Rob at the carnival. Alyssa and Isaac had lots of fun riding the rides. The cars were a fave for both of them and they rode them at least 3 times. After riding all of the rides, we had a yummy hot dog lunch and headed home to relax for the rest of the afternoon. We ended the day with some of Nana Donna's famous lasagna.


On Monday, we relaxed most of the morning and then headed to Auntie Jasmine's in the afternoon. Monday night Mommy and Daddy headed to AT&T park to watch the Giants beat the Marlins while the girls played with Isaac.


Tuesday was our last day in CA. We spent most of the day washing clothes and packing. That night we had a big family dinner at Uncle Vince's and Aunt Denise's. Alyssa had a blast playing with Siena's baby dolls and didn't want to leave. She also loved her pink and purple pillow made courtesy of Siena, which was great for napping on the plane. Thanks Siena!!!

We had a great trip and were all very sad to leave although it was great to sleep in our own beds again. We can't wait to see everyone in California again next summer!!!
