Sunday, January 25th, Alyssa turned 2 years old and had her birthday party. She was very excited about her party. She has a Birthday Elmo DVD and we have been talking about her party for a while. That morning, when we asked her what day it was she said, "Ha-y, D-day, Lee-a," and "I two." It was SOO cute! Alyssa wasn't very cooperative about taking a nap, so by the time 1:30 rolled around she was getting pretty cranky and whiny. We were a little worried that she would be a pill at her party, which started at two. Once all the kids started showing up though, Alyssa cheered up and was in a much better mood. However, she did have a small meltdown when we wouldn't let her have all the balloons and open the presents as soon as people brought them in the door. We had a fun afternoon. Everyone ate pizza and chips and dip and then Alyssa played with several of her cousins (the house was complete chaos) before opening presents and eating cupcakes and ice cream. Alyssa got lots of great gifts: several outfits, a Dora doll, a 4-wheeler, a tunnel maze, princess dress-up clothes, and a baby doll playpen, stroller, and swing to name a few. The kid definitely doesn't need ANY more toys for quite a while. She might be a TAD bit spoiled! We're telling ourselved it's OK though- a girl's birthday does only come around once a year!
New home! Come check it out!
