I haven't posted an update in a while- the beginning of the school year is very hectic and exhausting. Not much has been going on with the girls lately except for Audrey's eye surgery. On August 24th, Audrey had outpatient surgery to correct a clogged tear duct she has had since she was born. It was a very short (about 20 min.) procedure, but it still made Mommy and Daddy very nervous for Audrey to be put to sleep. We had to be at the hospital very early that morning and had to wait for about an hour for the doctor to arrive. Luckily, Audrey fell asleep while we waited. She was starting to get hungry since she couldn't eat or drink anything after 9 the night before and I was afraid she was going to be fussing. It also made it much easier to hand her over to the nurse while she was sleeping (no crying or reaching for us to make us feel horrible). Audrey's room was right across from the recovery room and a doctor just happened to go through the door right as a nurse was bringing Audrey in from the surgery, so we were able to see her and knew she was okay. After about 15 min. in the recovery room, they brought her back to us where she had to drink a bottle before she could be discharged. It didn't take very long and about 10 min. later Daddy and Audrey were on their way home and Mommy was on her way to work. Other than irritated skin in the corner of her eye, Audrey was as good as new.
