Ready or Not, Here We Come!

I've been meaning to post pictures from the girls' first day of school for a few days, but have been WORN OUT!!! Whoever thought that the first week of school should be 5 days is CRAZY!!! But enough complaining... Both the girls headed back to preschool on Monday- K3 for Audrey and K4 for Alyssa.
Audrey's not quite old enough for K3, but Palmerdale groups all the younger kids in one class and the older in another, so that made Mommy and Daddy feel a little better. She'll have to do another year of K3 next year though in the older class. We weren't quite sure how she would do. If you know Audrey, you know why. Audrey is super shy and is a Mommy's girl. We were expecting a major meltdown. However, she surprised us by getting down and playing with the blocks without a peep. I think it helped that in the mornings all the kids are in the playroom together until breakfast, so she got to stay with Alyssa. Her teachers said she did great, but refused to potty at school. I guess she thought it was gross and germy :)- can't really blame her! We had a discussion that night about it being okay to potty at school and no more problems with that. The morning drop-off the past two days is a different story though- major meltdowns!!! We're hoping they'll be short-lived and she'll get used to it soon. Her teachers assure me she stops crying as soon as I leave, but it still is a little heart breaking to hear those screams.
Alyssa had a great first day at K4 and was full of information when I picked her up. Most importantly, she stayed on green all day! And every day this week so far! Apparently she's a star student. Mommy and Daddy are a little unsure how she stays on green every day with her sassy little self, but we're not complaining :) She loves both of her teachers and has been working hard at learning her first Bible verse of the year.
We're excited to see what the rest of the school year brings!
Ready for school!

So excited!

At this point she told me, "Me no go school. Me stay home with Mommy!"

Loves her Dora backpack
