A Day at the Pumpkin Patch

Jared doesn't work on Mondays, so today we planned some family time and ventured out to the pumpkin patch. When we got there, we took a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin. Mommy and Daddy had to help Alyssa choose a pumpkin that would be suitable for carving; she kept picking out "baby" pumpkins. After we chose a pumpkin, Alyssa went through the hay maze several times while we waited on the wagon to return. She loved running through the maze. There was a first grade class there as well, and she thought she was one of the big kids. She also got a chance to see all different kinds of farm animals and had fun telling Mommy what sounds they all make. Her favorites were the chickens. This afternoon, we decided to carve Alyssa's pumpkin. She was supposed to help Daddy get all of the seeds out, but after sticking her hand in the pumpkin once, she refused to do it again. She just kept saying, "No, yucky, yucky," every time we tried to get her to help. She loved watching Daddy carve it though; I posted some pics of the finished product.
