Alyssa LOVES Santa Claus. We've been talking about him for about a month and reading lots of Christmas books and watching movies with Santa in hopes that she wouldn't freak out when she had her picture taken with him. Every time she sees a picture of him, she starts saying, "Ho-ho, Ho-ho." Still, Mommy didn't have very high expectations for the experience. Last night, Mommy, Audrey, and Alyssa headed to Brookwood Mall to see Santa. The whole way there we talked about how Alyssa was going to sit in Santa's lap with Audrey and have her picture taken. We even practiced telling Santa what she wanted for Christmas ( a kit-ten: Alyssa for kitchen). When we got there Audrey got in Santa's lap first in case Alyssa had a meltdown, but BIG SURPRISE- she loved sitting in Santa's lap. We couldn't get her to smile, but she kept looking at him saying, "Ho-ho, Ho-ho." She even cried when she was finished until Mommy let her eat her candy cane Santa had given her. She kept asking about Ho-ho the whole way home. Mommy couldn't believe there wasn't a screaming child in the picture. Toddlers are so unpredictable!
